We’re hiring: Grants Manager

November 9, 2017

Resource Media is looking for a Grants Manager to join our team working to create a more just and sustainable world. We’re seeking someone who is motivated by social justice and excited by the prospect of helping a communications consulting firm adapt solid business practices that maximize our impact. You should be skilled at the basics of nonprofit grants management and eager to jump in to assist with the development function.

We are a mission-driven nonprofit PR firm that works in support of social change. We provide communications services to a variety of progressive groups, but also operate independently or in coalition when we see unmet communications needs in the field. We work on issues that have an impact on the health of people and planet, including climate change and clean energy, social and environmental justice, food and farms. Resource Media currently utilizes Salesforce for opportunity tracking and project budget management along with a suite of cloud-based platforms for storage, collaboration, and internal communications. Our staff of 23 is distributed in multiple locations.

Our ideal candidate has a background managing nonprofit grants and contracts and experience working in Salesforce and is able to work well independently and with teams, takes initiative and demonstrates leadership, works collaboratively, and is committed to social justice and equity.

Resource Media values an equitable and inclusive workplace. We are an equal opportunity employer with a commitment to engaging the skills and leadership of people of color, LGBTQ persons, and other individuals from diverse backgrounds. People from these and other historically marginalized backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with a passion for tracking details and a strong interest in business development. A minimum three years of relevant grants and contracts management work experience in a nonprofit organization is required, along with a general understanding of nonprofit accounting and reporting that enable you to interpret and present financial information for use by decision-makers and project staff.

The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to equity as the cornerstone of progress toward a just and sustainable world. Excellent communication and relationship building skills are necessary. You must have the ability to prioritize and problem solve and must be able to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You must also be a self-starter with a sense of initiative and good judgment, and must exercise discretion and judgment in the handling of confidential or sensitive information.

This role will require you to be comfortable with technology, including the use of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and other software commonly used in business.
