Nevada’s energy efficiency programs were on the hot seat in early 2012 as the state’s Public Utilities Commission (PUCN) looked to make drastic budget cuts. Resource Media and Southwest Energy Efficiency Project worked to generate media attention on the damaging effect these program cuts would have on Nevada residents and businesses. The PUCN responded to the pressure, sparing several programs from elimination.
