EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

Rachele works with Resource Media clients on communications strategy and implementation to benefit clean water, lands and urban environments. She specializes in media relations, persuasive messaging, and audience-mobilization, and has worked in electric vehicles, clean energy, labor rights, health equity and social justice. With more than a dozen years of experience at the intersection of advocacy and strategic communications, Rachele is adept at moving both hearts and minds.

Rachele Huennekens has more than a dozen years of experience at the intersection of advocacy and strategic communications, working with nonprofit organizations, elected officials and labor unions to tell their stories through multichannel, creative communications strategies. She previously served as Press Secretary for California Attorney General Kamala Harris, acting as her spokesperson on key initiatives to fight for justice for all Californians. Rachele came to Resource Media from the communications firm RALLY, where she led communications strategies for prominent social justice, health equity, and environmental organizations including Earthjustice, Glide, Tipping Point Community and The Colorado Trust. Earlier in her career, Rachele was the grassroots media strategist for the Sierra Club, the nation’s oldest and largest environmental organization, serving as a media trainer, coach and liaison to hundreds of field staff and volunteers across the country. She has also been a communications specialist for the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE), SEIU-United Service Workers West, and the AFL-CIO, advancing economic justice and workers’ rights initiatives through communications and marketing.
