Get to know our new staff and interns

Earlier this summer, Tariq Rashid, Esmeralda Majarrez, and Marisa Orozco joined the Resource Media team. Tariq is our newest program coordinator based out of our Philadelphia office, and Esmeralda and Marisa are participating in our internship program out of our Seattle and Oakland offices, respectively. We wanted to get to know Resource Media’s newest members by learning eight fun facts about them. Check out this fun, short and sweet Q&A with them.

Meet Tariq:

1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Death by Chocolate (It’s a Penn State Berkey Creamery flavor… amazing).
2. What is the last song you played on loop until you got sick of it? “That’s On Me” by Yella Beezy.
3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid? I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was a kid.
4. What are two things you always have on your desk? Post-it notes and my water bottle.
5. What would we most likely find you doing outside of work? Stuffing my face (with food).
6. What is your current favorite book? Educated by Tara Westover.
7. How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza? I love Hawaiian pizza. Bring on the pineapple. *chef’s kiss*
8. Fun fact about yourself? I get a huge kick out of vanity plates and have a collection of pictures on my Instagram.

Our interns Marisa and Esmeralda also joined in the fun. Here’s what Marisa had to say:

1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? None because I am lactose intolerant (sad face).
2. What is the last song you played on loop until you got sick of it? “Cyanide” by Daniel Caesar
3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid? A dolphin trainer #Yikes.
4. What are two things you always have on your desk? I always have earphones and a water bottle near me at all times.
5. What would we most likely find you doing outside of work? Listening to music, a podcast, or an interview on my phone.
6. What is your current favorite book? Becoming by Michelle Obama (she is so amazing!!!).
7. How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza? That’s just disrespectful.
8. Fun fact about yourself? I can recite the alphabet backwards.

1. What is your favorite flavor of Ice cream? None, because I’m also lactose intolerant.
2. What is the last song you played on loop until you got sick of it? “Bills, Bills, Bills” by Destiny’s child.
3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid? An environmentalist.
4. What are two things you always have on your desk? Hair ties and extra pens.
5. What would we most likely find you doing outside of work? Eating hot pot at Boiling Point.
6. What is your current favorite book? The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.
7. How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza? No, thank you.
8. Fun fact about yourself? OR Do you have a special talent?I once saw the guy who played Draco in Harry Potter on the street but he turned the corner and disappeared before I could get a picture. I swear it was him
